Jan 4 2025 POD 2 T3-pelvis scoliosis spine fusion

I am having trouble getting comfortable in any position. My belly hurts to lay on my sides and back hurts to lay on my back. The drains were still collecting a lot of fluid. Blood counts down and I’m getting 3rd transfusion now. Back on oxygen. Also potassium, magnesium and phosphorus are down. Urine retention. I’m getting catheterization frequently. Today I just don’t feel good. Probably the blood loss. I am able to move slightly more each day. PT is supposed to come walk me but I don’t see that happening.

POD 2 continuation-texting is hard. My fine motor skills are shot. Today I rested, got blood and talked extensively to the surgeon. I knew this would hurt bad but I expected pain control to be better. I’m no less than 6 on pain scale. I get Norco, morphine, robaxan, Xanax. I rotate those every 2 hours. My daughter stays during the night and when my boyfriend is out working jobs. She texts him med times so they’re on the same page. No way I can keep up with that info. I’m constantly repositioning myself. Laying on my back is terrible. The muscle spasms in the center of my back are terrible. Ugh.  My oxygen level keeps dropping right now. Hopefully it’s not anemia again. Update: 4th transfusion is going now.

I remember this day as being one of the worst. The pain, not being able to lay still, fatigue from the anemia, urine retention. It was pretty bad. I just wanted to sleep and all of the above prevented sleep.
