Dec 31, 2024-Scoliosis Surgery Day!

Today is the day! T3-pelvis fusion. Part 1 today for the anterior approach, cages in lumbar. Part 2 on Thursday for the full fusion from the back.

I wore a custom T shirt that says I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. Philippians 4:13. That was my mindset walking through those glass doors and not knowing what would happen on the other side. I don’t like unknowns.

I’m in pre op room now. Not nervous yet. I did Yen Yoga on Sunday, 2 hour massage with energy and breath work yesterday. I feel good.

My mother, daughter and boyfriend are all in the waiting room. I was only allowed one person to be with me in the pre op room. I was torn and couldn’t choose between the 3 of them. My gut feel was to ask for my daughter to come back but I told the nurse to tell them I can’t choose just one. Well I guess they talked amongst themselves and my daughter came back to be with me. That was absolutely the right choice. She and I are so much alike and we’re both so sensitive. We had some laughs and some cries. But all good stuff. And then they gave me the sleepy medicine and they took me away.

I had my hair braided so I didn’t end up with matted, snarled hair
